About the event
All ages. Supervised children welcome! Jennifer will provide 1/2 yard cotton muslin prepared fabrics for your experiments. Dyepots will be ready for your exploration into color! We will use marigold, cochineal, weld, osage, madder and indigo to achieve (hopefully!) yellows, oranges, blues and purples. Fiber will be pre-scoured and mordanted for our immediate use.
Students should bring: apron, rubber gloves, empty clean jars with lids (to take home exhaust bath dyes), pencil for notetaking and a sense of fun! Don’t wear your favorite shoes to class either - in case the dye migrates.
This class is fantastic fun for small groups! There will be a 30 minute break for lunch so please bring a packed lunch.
